About This Project
A deliberate exploration of multi-software hero prop creation. Maya handled the core mechanical hard-surface geometry; Blender covered procedural details and mesh refinement.
Texturing used a layered aging narrative in Substance Painter — micro-scratches, impact dents, moisture rust, and workshop dirt — each in separate mask groups so the story can be dialled back or extended non-destructively.
Final presentation in Marmoset Toolbag 4 demonstrates how clean topology, tight UV packing, and 1K PBR textures combine into a production-ready prop.
Key Highlights
- 5,006 triangles — optimised for real-time use
- 1K (1024×1024) texture resolution, no wasted texel space
- Dual-DCC modelling workflow: Maya precision + Blender procedurals
- Layered aging system: scratches, dents, rust, and dirt in separate mask groups
